![]() ![]() So maybe this is naive from me but wouldnt owning a OC gpu in theory would let it manage a simple OC MODE from asus? and even better give me more frames than lessĪny theory or advice or software suggestion, thanks in advance. ![]() In the end i decided to check if i installed the newer one and after i noticed i did all good thought the best choice was to just uninstall it and now my pc works flawless, did some photoshop, played RDR 4K and triple monitor COD for some hours and all good so far. now for some reason it changed all the settings to for MHz to minumun (-200) from stock and i cant change it, every time i do it changes back as soon as i apply the changes. It took me a while but noticing gpu tweak was my newer software i started testing and yes, OC mode crash my pc and the OC SCAN crash it too, normal mode on the other hand works just flawless, in fact when in OC MODE cod went from 75 frames to 70, and in normal mode it went back to 75 which is weird. I've been oc'ing my gpu for a while now and i have asus gpu tweak set to automatically set it up on boot. I decided to download gpu tweak 3 as i used to use it with my dead past gpu which was a 1080ti, WELL it didnt worked well.Īs soon as i switched to OC MODE it started crashing my games, RDR2 AT 4K, Modern Warfare it even crashed wallpaper engine, a little time after that it will just go black screen and just be there needing a manual reset. However i had a small problem that i think i solved. I'm starting to think that this overclock is not significant and maybe i've been unlucky on the silicon lottery, as i've seen a lot of people achieve + 100 on the gpu boost clock. So i finally upgrade my GPU, i got a 2060 OC from ASUS and is working great. I can't get any higher than + 50 without the gpu crashing. I applied these settings as my overclock: Before my overclock the clocks sat around the 1980 - 2000 MHz range, whereas now they sit at 2038 MHz. Also i'm sure the clocks are higher after my overclock according to HW-Monitor. Yeah i've disabled vsync / enabled ulimited fps to make sure the fps isn't capped to my refresh rate (144hz). If that's not the case, are the clocks actually higher than before the OC while playing said game? The GPU will not run on the highest clocks if there's not enough load. Dumb question - are you sure you are not reaching a set fps cap ingame (either by an fps cap or vsync/gsync)? In my case, it does not properly apply, even though I am not quitting the tool after dialing in the OC.Īnyway, no fps gain is indeed strange. Okay, so that is different from my experience. ![]() If it helps these are the preset OC mode settings and my manual overclock settings.ĪSUS GPU Tweak 2 Preset OC mode settings: Now my question is, does the GPU Tweak software have to be running at all times, (checking the setting that says start GPU Tweak at boot time) or can I close the program and not have to run it all the time and after a reboot it will still apply my overlock settings still? Which indicates to me that overclocking my gpu does nothing to improve performance or that the GPU Tweak software is not applying settings. All three of these gpu settings changed in the GPU Tweak software yield the exact same results in both games and benchmarking software in terms of average fps values. Hi there, i'm using the ASUS GPU Tweak 2 on my ASUS Strix 1080ti (OC edition) and i've tried testing the default gpu mode, GPU Tweaks built in preset OC mode and my own manual overclock on the gpu. ![]()
